Aug. 8, 2006 - Metso Paper said that it will rebuild the newsprint paper machine PM 8 of Guangzhou Paper Co., Ltd. in the Guangdong province, China.

The rebuild will include delivery of a forming section rebuild to BelBaie V former, modernization of the press and dryer sections, and a new OptiSoft soft calender, Metso said.

PM 8 has a wire width of 8.7 m, a design speed of 1,100 m/min and a capacity of over 500 tpd of newsprint.

The modernization project is scheduled for completion in mid-2007.

The value of the order is 15 MEUR, Metso said.

Guangzhou Paper operates five newsprint machines with a combined production capacity of 470,000 tpy.
