Voith Paper to Supply Daio Paper with New LWC Machine

June 22, 2006 - Voith Paper said that it will deliver a new LWC (light weight coated) paper machine to Daio Paper in Shikoku Chuo City, Japan

The new PM 10 will have a design speed of up to 1,800 m/min max. and a wire width of 8,100 mm. The machine will be capable of producing a wide variety of woodfree Ultra LWC, LWC and MWC glossy and matt grade papers in the basis weight range from 38 to 105 g/m2.

Start-up is planned in the third quarter of 2007.

Daio Paper Corporation was established in 1943 and is one of the leading paper producers in Japan. The company produces paperboard, wrapping paper, linerboard, packaging and sanitation products (tissue paper), cardboard and pulp. Daio Paper also makes paper-processed products such as corrugated cardboard, napkins, and speciality coated papers and is active in the timber and forestry industries. The company owns and operates three paper mills and about 40 subsidiaries.
