Metso Paper to Supply New Machine to Augusta Tissue

April 4, 2006 (Press Release) - Metso Paper will supply a complete Advantage DCT 100 tissue machine to Augusta Tissue Mill, LLC. The machine will be located at the company's mill in Augusta, Georgia, USA.

The value of the order is below Euro 10 million (US$12.2 million).

The tissue machine will have a nominal wire width of 2.7 m and an operating speed of 1,600 m/min. The daily production based on recycled fiber will be 80-100 short tons per day (approx. 73-91 metric tonnes) of high-quality towel and bathroom tissue grades. Production is scheduled to begin during the end of 2006 or early 2007.

Metso's scope of delivery will comprise an Advantage DCT 100 tissue machine equipped with an OptiFlo II TIS headbox, a single press, a 15-foot Metso yankee cylinder, an Advantage AirCap yankee hood, sheet control, tail threading and an Advantage SoftReel P reel for winding on cores.

Augusta Tissue is a new company to the tissue business. The plant is built adjacent to the old Ponderosa recycled fiber mill site in Augusta. The company plans to sell its one- and two-ply products in parent rolls.
