Pratt Industries to Close Marion, IN Corruagted Box Plant
Feb. 15, 2006 - Pratt Industries told workers at its Marion, Indiana corrugated box plant on Tuesday that the facility would close in April.
According to an AP news report, Pratt said the decision to close the plant was made because the company can better service customers through several similar plants in the Midwest, including the one in Valparaiso, IN.
The Marion facility has experienced a number of rounds of layoffs since 1999.
Eleven Marion employees will be transferred to other locations, while 63 will lose their jobs when the plant closes, the AP reported.
The company said it would operate a distribution center in Marion.
